Handsome Dobermans on the street immediately attract attention. This is a solid and majestic dog, which was bred as a service and wanted. Today you can have a Doberman as a pet, but at the same time your pet will retain first-class memory, easy-to-learn skills and a desire to serve.

Doberman training is a guarantee of safety: you, your dog and others. It is impossible to neglect it, because the representatives of this breed have a lightning reaction, aggression and remarkable physical strength. To identify the best features of a Doberman, you should deal with him both independently and with a professional. Experienced specialists in our club will help to educate this difficult breed.

From the history of the breed

Dobermann is a noble German breed of service dogs, combining, according to the intention of their creator, elegance and power. Interestingly, they are the only ones named after their breeder - Friedrich Lewis Dobermann. By profession, he was a tax collector, and represented the ideal dog as a formidable guard.

Unpretentiousness, courage and vigilance - these are the main features of the Doberman. To achieve them, in the animal they combined:

Due to its features, the Doberman is excellent for guard and guard services, protection of owners, their land and property. This is a serious dog, the education of which is not for everyone. It is worth considering that the Doberman will never be a servant and thoughtless performer - the breed interacts with the person almost on equal terms. Useless commands like “bring slippers” he will not execute. But he will quickly learn “Fas”, “Aport”, risk his life for the sake of protecting his master and family members. A properly trained Doberman can be entrusted even to a small child.

When to start training?

The education and training of the Doberman starts immediately as soon as the puppy appears in the house. Kids of this breed are very cute and funny, but it is wrong to postpone the start of classes for later. The seemingly defenseless and thoughtless puppy is actually already from the first days looking for a leader. If he realizes that you are weak, he will quickly take the lead in his clutches. It will then be difficult to fix upbringing errors in an adult dog even with an experienced instructor.

Before acquiring a Doberman puppy, you need to prepare him a sunbed, a place in which he will eat and toys. A healthy baby is very playful and cheerful, he will like all the objects with which you can play. In addition, they are useful in education.

Dobermans work great for food. But, in order not to feed them and not provoke food aggression, it is worthwhile to switch to toy promotion over time. It is better to give preference to the game with objects that end up with the owner: a ball, a wand. But games with pulling things are forbidden: this can undermine your leadership position.
Also prepare objects that can be chewed with impunity - the puppy's teeth will be cut and scratched.

Establishing Leadership

Now it's time for the initial training of the puppy. It’s too early to start teaching teams; first, the Doberman must clearly understand your leadership. The kid will surely test you for strength - he cannot give in and feel sorry for him. Strongly prohibit:

  • to sleep on the bed (it is best to place a bed in your bedroom, but the owner’s bed should be a forbidden place),
  • Walking ahead of yourself at the door will be useful several times to carefully push the baby away until he has learned this lesson. In the same way, the Doberman should jump into the car - only on command and after the owner,
  • take food in front of the owner and beg for tidbits,
  • show aggression - biting and growling,
  • nibble things. In this case, you need to punish at the time of the commission of pranks. Having found a gnawed slipper after a while, it is worth silently saying goodbye to the thing: the puppy will no longer understand why he is being punished. Instead, he will learn for himself: the owner is aggressive and unpredictable.

Up to 4 months, the most important thing is to secure the absolute trust of the dog, build a relationship of love and understanding. Dobermans do not react to beatings, and beat a puppy cruelly. Instead, you need to develop communication skills so that the dog responds to your tone of voice and mood. The discontent of the beloved master should be the worst punishment for him.

First teams

In the period from 4 to 6 months with the puppy the first commands are worked out: “To me”, “Place”, “Fu”. The baby will remember the nickname a few days after appearing in the house. It is important to make sure that all family members call him the same, and do not change the name to, for example, affectionate and diminutive. Encouragement is expressed in a gentle tone, and not by different nicknames, otherwise the puppy will get confused.

There are no problems with the “Place” team. But “To me” and “Fu” will require perseverance. It is necessary to force the Doberman to execute commands, albeit toughly. For example, you can do this: agree with a friend so that he stocks up with small pebbles or peas. When a puppy shows disobedience after the command “Come to me!”, It is worth starting to throw these objects at it. The owner, when the dog nevertheless runs up to him, in every possible way calms her. Then the Doberman’s head creates an idea: “The owner is good, he takes care of me. He didn’t want stones to fall on me, and therefore he called me. ” Next time you can count on implicit obedience.

The Fu team is unlearned with a rustling newspaper. No need to strive to hurt - just a light pop on the nose.

Vote!

Another team that should be learned as early as possible, especially if you plan to go to your exhibitions with your pupil. Barking on command is a requirement necessary for Dobermans to capture a criminal or identify an attacker. To bark and keep silent on command, the animal is trained in several stages.

  • Free barking. A puppy will often bark by itself, for example, during the game. Take advantage of this: clearly pronounce “Voice, voice, well done!”. When the baby leaves, command "Silence!", And gently hold your face in your hands. After the Doberman starts to fulfill your command, reward him and go play in another place.
  • Provoked barking. After a couple of days, when the puppy learns what “Voice” and “Silence” mean, start to start barking at the command. To do this, show the hungry baby a treat and say “Voice!”. It is important to speak quietly, but persistently, as if enticing. The dog barks - at least from impatience and desire to get food. Praise.

Applying these simple exercises, you will soon get from the Doberman that he will bark exclusively on command. The most important thing is not to tire the baby in the early days, be content first with the smallest sound made.

Further training

If the obedience course to the master and the initial teams have been successful, you can begin training new teams. “Near”, “Aport” - these are the commands that the puppy is able to fulfill. He must also learn to walk on a leash, calmly endure an examination by a veterinarian and socialize. For the latter, it is important to take him more often for a walk in crowded places, to introduce other dogs, while suppressing aggression.

In any case, it is important to decide whether you can train your dog yourself or if you need help before six months of age. Training Doberman at the rate of the ZKS - guard-guard service is not an easy task. Entrusting it to professionals from our club, you can enjoy a balanced and faithful pet. You can also take a general course program, come to group classes and special preparations for exhibitions.

Doberman is an excellent watchman and friend, but only on condition that he is obedient. In order not to make problems for yourself, the owner should not regret the education of time and money.
